Wapice ramps up dozens of new software projects every year, ranging from short sprints to products with decade-long lifespans. Our customers require high scalability and modern quality assurance. Efficient development and team motivation requires proper tooling and processes. We develop and maintain our standard toolkit and way of working, but often also seamlessly join the development teams of our world class customers using their infrastructure. In both cases, we focus on continuous improvement in how the software is being developed.
Now we are looking for new fast-learning, tech-hungry and ambitious DevOps engineers. At Wapice you can see DevOps practices applied even in unconventional environments, such as FPGA development and data analytics.
DevOps at Wapice
As a DevOps Engineer you will be making sure your team automates boring routines, keeps the product always in good shape and avoids maintenance nightmares. You will specialize on modern deployment technologies such as microservices and cloud platforms. When your day starts with improvement tasks instead of routines or firefighting, you know you’ve been successful in your work.
You will be working with our agile teams that consist of the industry’s top experts. This includes developers, testers, data engineers and designers, so you will get a chance to ramp up your skills along the way. We do our work with great passion, without compromising quality. As a DevOps Engineer at Wapice you can work on one of our sites (Vaasa, Tampere, Helsinki, Jyväskylä, Turku, Seinäjoki, Oulu and Hyvinkää) or flexibly remotely.
Who are we looking for?
To succeed in this role, we expect you to be independent, systematic and most of all – enthusiastic about technology. You’re a team player, who always strives to develop not only yourself, but also to share knowledge with your peers.
Regarding beneficial technical skills, our next DevOps Engineer hopefully has experience in several of the following:
- DevOps platforms (Azure Devops, Gitlab, Github, Atlassian)
- Infrastructure automation (e.g. Terraform, Helm, Vagrant)
- Containers and microservice deployments (e.g. Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)
- CI/CD pipelines (Integrated, or standalone such as Bamboo, Jenkins)
- Linux server environments maintenance and troubleshooting
- Scripting (Python, Bash, Powershell)
- Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe)
- Understanding of the importance of good documentation
A background in software development is certainly helpful but not a necessity. We also value understanding and interest in embedded systems, test automation and/or cloud technologies.
Why should you choose Wapice, then?

Regarding DevOps, with us you can experience a massive variety of solutions instead of sticking with one standard. You may participate in applying DevOps practices even in unconventional environments, such as FPGA development and data analytics. When interested, you may spice up your role with participation to software development, educating other Wapiceans or occasional consultation tasks.
